Band Yearbook

A band yearbook is created each year to capture all the fun and accomplishments throughout the year. If you like to take pictures or have a keen eye for detail, please consider joining our yearbook committee! Contact Co-Director, Brian Nelsen if you are interested in helping.

Bus Chaperone

Chaperones are needed for each competition and home football game performance during the fall marching season. Chaperones are asked to ride the bus to and from performances. Volunteers are also asked to help with a few other small activities while at the performances. These include helping with pluming (the feather on the hat), distributing snacks/meals among other things. This committee helps to coordinate signups and chaperone volunteers.

Elkhorn Band Olympics (EBO)

EBO was started in 1975 by former band director and retired superintendent Steve Baker. The event takes place in February and involves hundreds of student performers from several area schools. It is a fun event for our students to participate in. Signups are sent out for food donations and volunteers for the event.

This committee works to set up fundraising opportunities for the band boosters throughout the year.  One of the main community fundraising categories includes monthly "Family Dine Out" events. The committee works with local restaurants to set up dine out events where supporters can purchase a meal and a percentage of the proceeds are donated to the band boosters.

Night of Stars

Night of Stars is a fun collaborative fundraising event with EVVMS and ERMS that takes place in April each year.  Students perform solos, duets, ensembles, and large groups.  This committee helps to coordinate the food, decorations, and auction items for the event.

Plant Sale

The plant sale takes place each spring in March. It is a fundraising event sponsored by all three EPS high school band boosters. Sales are done online over the month. Plants are then distributed at one location following the end of the sale period. This committee helps to coordinate the sale along side representatives from ENHS and EHS.

Pit / Building Crew

Do you like working with your hands and having sideline views of the band while they are performing? If so, Pit Crew is for you! These parents help to build and maintain all the performance props for marching band in the fall. Committee members help to load and unload equipment at home football games and competitions, as well as help our students set the field during performances and games. This committee helps to coordinate volunteers to assist with these activities as well.

Student Recognition

The Band Boosters loves to recognize the successes of our talented students and directors throughout the year. This chair would help coordinate student and staff recognition efforts as appropriate. Specifically, help to organize the Post NSBA (Nebraska State Bandmasters Competition) breakfast in October. This event signals the end of marching season and helps to celebrate the band's accomplishments.  This chair would also represent the Band Boosters on the Band Booster Scholarship selection committee.
